Not many selectors bridge style and scene as seamlessly as PANOOC. Their sound draws directly from the queer club roots of NYC, Detroit, and Chicago, spiked with the raw, high-energy grit of UK rave culture. In this edition of our SONIC Series, the DJ, producer, and multi-instrumentalist delivers a set spanning house, acid, electro, breaks, and everything in between. Built on deep-crate digging and pure instinct, it’s a mix designed to keep you guessing right up to the final track.

PANOOC’s path to the booth started on the sax. A trained jazz saxophonist, they shifted into New York’s house and techno scene in 2011, spending the next decade weaving musicianship into heavy club culture. Early cuts on Ultra Music and Sony Music established their studio credentials, while sets at NYC staples like Elsewhere, House of Yes, The Lot Radio, and Good Room built their name as an unpredictable, high-utility DJ.

While PANOOC spends hours mapping out where a set could go, nothing is fixed once the needle drops. The magic happens when reading the crowd, leaving space to pivot into unexpected territory when the room demands it. This session moves effortlessly from house and acid into electro, breaks, and tougher club territory. Selections from Lala, Alinka, X-Coast, Tom Blip, DJ DASCO, and Mike ‘Agent X’ Clark sit alongside PANOOC’s own remix of Akumen’s My Natural State. The vibe shifts constantly, euphoria gives way to tension, tension breaks into release, and curiosity keeps the floor locked in.

That approach has taken PANOOC through New York, Berlin, and the UK, sharing bills with artists like Todd Edwards, Cormac, DJ Dan, Budino, and Takuya Nakamura. They’ve played key queer parties including Adonis, Queer House Party, XOXA NYC, and Others To The Front, with regular slots at Renate, Sisyphos, Kater, Sneaky Pete’s, The Carpet Shop, and Dalston Superstore.

Their discography is just as varied. With releases on Freeride Millenium, Fortune Signal, and Dome of Doom (plus a highlight feature in Logic1000’s Mixmag cover mix), PANOOC shifts easily between high-grade club tracks and textural ambient work. Their club EP See Me was premiered by DJ Mag and picked up by Hannah Holland, while their 2026 downtempo EP Unmarked spotlighted their softer side. Across the airwaves, their tracks are regular fixtures on BBC Radio via I. JORDAN, Jaguar, and Michelle Manetti.
